This policy explains how the EmbeddedExpertIO blog uses cookies, browser storage and optional third-party services. It applies to this blog. The main EmbeddedExpertIO website and course storefront have their own settings and notices.
Your choice
Essential services support the site and features you request. Analytics, marketing and external services stay off until you choose to allow them. You can reject all optional services and continue reading articles, downloading linked resources and following course links.
Use “Cookie preferences” in the footer to change or withdraw your choice. We remember your selection in this browser for 180 days. After it expires, or if you clear the cookie, we ask again. Turning off a service that has already loaded reloads the page to stop it. A choice on this blog does not change settings on other websites or devices.
Essential services
These support security, sign-in, comments and settings you ask us to remember. Some contain identifiers or details you provide; “essential” does not mean that a cookie contains no personal information.
Swipe or scroll each table to read all columns.
| Name or service | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
eeio_consent_v1 | Records your category choices and when you made them. | 180 days from your last saved choice. |
eeio:blog:appearance:v1 (local storage) | Remembers the light, dark or system appearance you select. | Until you change it or clear site storage. |
WordPress sign-in and security cookies, including wordpress_* and wp-settings-* | Support account access, security checks and editor preferences when you sign in. | Session or the sign-in/preferences period set by WordPress. |
comment_author_* | Remembers comment details only when you select the “save my name and email” option. | Normally one year, or until cleared. |
wpEmojiSettingsSupports (session storage) | Remembers whether this browser can display WordPress emoji characters. | This browser session. |
The hosting service may also use a security check when you access sign-in or administration pages.
Analytics — optional
Ahrefs Analytics measures aggregate page usage without relying on cookies or persistent visitor identifiers. We nevertheless wait for your analytics choice before loading it. Post Views Counter uses a first-party cookie to avoid repeatedly counting the same article within a 24-hour interval. Historical view totals remain visible whether or not you consent; new counted visits depend on this choice and may begin on your next page load.
| Service or storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Ahrefs Analytics | Sends page-usage requests to analytics.ahrefs.com. | No analytics cookie or persistent identifier. |
pvc_visits[*] | Remembers recently counted article visits. | 24-hour counting interval in the current configuration. |
Read how Ahrefs Analytics works (opens in a new tab).
Marketing — optional
The Meta pixel measures visits and advertising results. If you allow it, Meta may associate activity on this blog with information from its services, including a Meta account. Browser events and any configured Meta server-side conversion events require the marketing choice.
| Name or service | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
Meta _fbp and, after a relevant advertising referral, _fbc | Browser identification and advertising attribution. | Typically up to 90 days; refreshed by Meta activity. |
lastExternalReferrer and lastExternalReferrerTime (local storage) | Meta referral information. | Until removed by the service, you clear it, or you withdraw marketing permission here. |
Read Meta’s cookie policy (opens in a new tab). Your browser may block some third-party cookies independently of this blog’s settings.
External services — optional
Third-party sharing tools from AddToAny and externally hosted embedded frames load only after you allow external services. These providers receive connection details, such as your IP address and browser information, and may use cookies according to their own policies. Cookie names and duration depend on the provider and your relationship with it. See AddToAny’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab) and the notice of any embedded provider before enabling it.
YouTube videos
YouTube demonstrations offer a “Play video” button. This permits that individual video to connect to YouTube for the current page only; it does not enable analytics, marketing, sharing tools or other videos, and does not save a consent cookie. Preview images are served by this blog without connecting your browser to YouTube. Selecting Play loads the player and requests playback; some browsers may require another press within the player. The player uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed domain, but loading or playing it still sends connection details to YouTube and may involve its storage. See Google’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab). To stop a video, leave or reload the page, or use Cookie preferences to reject optional services. Allowing the External services category enables embedded videos on subsequent visits until you withdraw that choice.
When external content is blocked, a placeholder lets you manage your choices or open the provider directly. A “Watch on YouTube” link remains available alongside each supported player. Course offers, ordinary links and article images are not removed by this choice. Following a link to another website is a separate visit governed by that website’s notice. Some article images and files are delivered by external hosts as part of displaying the content you requested.
Changing or clearing storage
Withdrawing a choice stops future optional services on this blog and removes the known optional first-party cookies and storage that this blog can access. We cannot erase cookies belonging to another provider’s domain or recall information already sent to it. Your browser’s privacy settings can clear those cookies and other site data. Blocking all storage may prevent sign-in or stop your preferences from being remembered.
